Constitutional Court of Abkhazia recognized as constitutional an increase in the age limit of deputies

The Constitutional Court (CC) of Abkhazia is not opposed to amending the constitution of the country on raising the age limit for elected representatives from 25 to 30 years. This was reported on August 24 by IA Apsadgyl-info with reference to the conclusion of the main body of the judiciary of the republic. It is reported that in the Constitutional Court of Abkhazia, a group of deputies sent a request for compliance with the country's basic law of a proposal to change the age from which citizens of the republic will be able to be elected to parliament. This initiative was recognized by the Constitution. The conclusion of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Abkhazia on this request is final and is not subject to appeal, the Constitutional Court of the Republic said in a statement. It is worth noting that the request was sent for consideration on July 15. Deputies who are the initiators of the innovation believe that it is too early for residents of the country to take part in legislative activities until the age of 30.
