The rule of five substitutions in the main time of a football match can be extended for the 2020/21 season. This was reported on July 8 by the Athletic portal. It is noted that the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the International Council of Football Associations (IFAB) may announce this decision in the coming days. Recall that earlier the teams were allowed to carry out five substitutions instead of three during the completion of the 2019/20 season.
