In South Korea, called the volume of state investments in R & D for 2019
In 2019, the South Korean government invested 20.6 trillion won (~ $17.05 billion) in research and development (R & D), which is 4.3% more compared to 2018. It is reported by KBS with reference to representatives of the Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technologies. According to them, these funds were allocated to finance 70,327 projects. It is known that in the period from 2015 to 2019, the growth rate of state investments in R & D averaged 2.2%, which is only a third of the growth rate of the state budget (6.4% per year). It is noted that each research project supported by the government received an average of 290 million won (~ $240 thousand), which is 20 million won (~ $16.5 thousand) less than a year earlier.
